Each month in 2021, Better Car People spotlights one dealership and a local charity of their choice through our new Gratitude Campaign. Better Car People donates $1,000 to the charity in the name of the dealership in the hopes of helping the local community and spreading the word about the specific charity.
January was the launch of our very first Gratitude Campaign, and we could not be more thrilled with the dealer partner and the charity they choose to highlight.
Dealer Partner: Reed-Lallier Chevrolet
Location: Fayetteville, NC
Spokesperson: Terry Moore, Marketing Manager
Charity: Operation Inasmuch
What is Operation Inasmuch?
Since 1995, Fayetteville Area Operation Inasmuch has been a life-changing entity in Fayetteville and surrounding areas. It is a faith-based organization that strives to be the “hands and feet'' of Jesus while serving a population that has been underserved for quite some time. They provide breakfast to between 85-110 people daily, and their “family members” are also given access to showers, laundry, and other services.
In addition to feeding the hungry and providing services they would not generally have access to, Operation Inasmuch also has their “Able-Life Program,” in which there are two locations where homeless men can go to start a transformation in their lives.
According to their site, “Our facility focuses on providing a multi-phase job program for homeless men ready to conquer recidivism, rejoin the workforce, and regain independence.”
Why Does Reed-Lallier Chevrolet Partner with Operation Inasmuch?
When talking with Terry Moore at Reed-Lallier Chevrolet, I understood quickly why they were the inaugural choice for our Gratitude Campaign. As much as giving back is in the DNA of Better Car People, it is with Reed-Lallier as well.
“I have a very strong passion for the homeless and then when there are actually family members--that is what we call them--we call them family members, all of them. But when they have young children, it tugs on your heartstrings pretty hard and makes you want to do as much as you can for them.”
Terry organizes the weekly volunteer team to serve breakfast, and they have representation in all areas of the dealership. From Parts to Administrative, everyone understands the importance of this initiative and it has become part of the culture of the dealership.
“We try to get all of our new hires to volunteer early in their employment here, and one of the things they always say afterward is that ‘It just makes my day a little more clear once I see where I could be, or anyone could be.’ All of our volunteers for Operation Inasmuch have that same sentiment. This changes their whole day.”
The passion and true desire to help the homeless in the Fayetteville area is evident, and Better Car People is incredibly proud to donate $1,000 to Operation Inasmuch on behalf of our dealer partner Reed-Lallier Chevrolet.
Every month we choose a new dealership and charity. If you have an organization you partner with that would benefit from the Better Car People Gratitude Campaign, reach out to your Dealer Success Coach for more information or submit your charity here.
