Each month in 2021, Better Car People spotlights one dealership and a local charity of their choice through our new Gratitude Campaign. Better Car People donates $1,000 to the charity in the name of the dealership in the hopes of helping the local community and spreading the word about the specific charity.
It is June, and Better Car People / The Gratitude Campaign was delighted to highlight Coastal Volkswagen/Nissan and their charity partner Wellspring Multi-Service Centers in Hull, Mass.
Dealer Partner: Coastal Volkswagen/Nissan
Location: Hull, Massachusetts
Spokesperson: Kristen Walker, Marketing Manager
Charity: Wellspring Multi-Service Centers
What is the Wellspring Multi-Service Center?
Wellspring was started in 1985 by Reverend Diane Edson after seeing the need for assistance for women on the South Shore of Boston. What started as a place to find warmth, some basic necessities, and comfort has turned into an integrated multi-service location that assists people in working towards independent and productive lives. From Adult Learning to Legal Advocacy, Wellspring Multi-Service Center strives to provide assistance and training to vulnerable members of the community.
According to their website:
“Wellspring embarked on what turned out to be a successful Capital Campaign allowing for the purchase of 814 Nantasket Avenue, Hull in 2002. From the Wellspring Thrift Shop at one end of the building to the Community Learning Center at the other, Wellspring Multi-Service Center’s current home houses a myriad of programs and services to meet the needs of neighbors throughout the South Shore and beyond.”
Wellspring continues to adapt to the changing needs of the community, and Coastal Volkswagen/Nissan wanted to be a part of the assistance and the growth of the charity.
Why Coastal Volkswagen/Nissan partners with the Wellspring Multi-Service Center
Coastal Volkswagen/Nissan’s Marketing Director Kristen Walker stated that she was at an event when she first became interested in assisting with this organization.
“I attended an event where the executive director was speaking about the work being done through the organization and reached out to see how we could help,” stated Ms. Walker. From that moment, the dealership and charity have been in partnership, and Coastal has focused many of their philanthropic efforts towards Wellspring.
According to Walker, “We have contributed to the purchase of multiple vehicles, donated time and materials, and used our company platform to promote their good works. Coastal donated a new VW Taos for a raffle to raise $50,000 for Wellspring.”
Walker and the team at Coastal Volkswagen/ Nissan volunteer their time and money to help various organizations within the community and have donated specifically to Wellspring in a generous way. From delivering food to families in need during the height of the pandemic to utilizing their advertising platforms to highlight Wellspring’s needs to sourcing a refrigerator truck for the organization, there is a definite partnership that goes beyond stroking a check and truly demonstrates the desire of Coastal to assist the community in the best ways possible.
