2012 Brian Shah Classic Golf Tournament

Transient

Co-founder and Chief of Ideas, Matthew Belk and Co-founder and Director of Operations, Chris Martinez met CFO Brian Musgrave at Oak Hills Country Club, just north of Columbia, SC on July 20th, 2012 for the 5th Annual Brian Shah Classic Golf Tournament. The annual tournament benefits Brian Shah who is being treated for Amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS), better known as “Lou Gehrig’s Disease.” Brian was diagnosed with ALS in October of 2007. He is a USC graduate, a member of the Sigma Nu fraternity and an inspiration to everyone around him. This is the third year that Better Car People, home of Overnight BDC, was an Eagle Sponsor for the Brian Shah Classic. After enjoying lunch from a local favorite, Groucho’s Deli, the three golfers, despite a heroic effort, finished last. They just couldn't get their putting in line! Once the golfing was complete, players had a delicious dinner and enjoyed a raffle and prize ceremony for the longest drive and closest to the pin. The BCP team is hoping that there is a trophy for highest score next year.

This year the Brian Shah Classic Golf Tournament had the highest participation since its inception with 33 full teams, raising thousands of dollars to assist the Shah’s as Brian continues his battle with ALS.

As a result of the donations and participation in the 2012 Brian Shah Classic, $22,000 was donated to Brian and Ashley this year!
